Kurukshetra is a city of the Haryana in India. According to Indian Puranas Kurukshetra name was give due to Kuru king of the region. The city is also known as Dharmakshetra (Holy City). Jyotisar is the main town in the city on the Kurukshetra-Pehowa road 5 km away to the Thanesar city in west direction. Here Jyoti mean Light and Sar mean core meaning so complete meaning of the word is ‘core meaning of light’ its mean in due course of God. In the place here under the holy Banayan tree Lord Krishna deliver a message to Arjun and today the message is known as Bhagawat Gita.
Brahma Sarovar is associated with Lord Brahma, the creator of the Universe. It has great importance due to bath especially on Somavati Amavasya after the bath people can get moksha (salvation). People believed that many Emperor taken bath in the sarovar that was Akbar, Abul Fazal and many other visitors taken bath on Solar Eclipise. It is 1800 feet long and 1400 feet broad.
Sri Krishna Museum is situated near Barhma Sarovar and it was set up by the Kurukshetra Development Board. In museum everything is related to Lord Krishna many things in the museum is used wood, carving, metal, castings ivory and palm leaf etches and many more things used in it.
